Why work for Kingston Smith?

Maureen Penfold-Kingston Smith - MediaDo you want to work for a firm that really cares about their people, clients and employees alike? Do you want to work for a firm where your work is both challenging and enjoyable? What’s more, do you want to work for a firm where there is no such thing as a typical day and where you will always be treated as a person, and not just an employee number?

If so then we want to hear from you. Kingston Smith is all about people, whether employees or clients. It is all about relationships and nurturing them to ensure our employees and clients reach their full potential. We all give our best and employ people who enjoy working with clients and helping them achieve the best they can.

One of the great things about Kingston Smith is that we work with a huge variety of Entrepreneurial businesses and Not for Profit organisations, which means that you will gain in-depth experience across a diverse range of clients.

We live by our firm’s philosophy and for us to achieve this we have to be committed to developing our employees’ talents.  We mention this on our website and reiterate this on an employee’s first day at the firm – at Kingston Smith, our people are at the heart of our clients’ success. I say it Quote-circle-2because it is true. I firmly believe that our combined commitment and drive will result in our employees achieving their potential, no matter the role they have at Kingston Smith. Personal development is very important to us and we support this by offering our employees continuous training across a wide range of relevant technical, industry and management topics, including soft skills.

If you look at my career at Kingston Smith as an example, I joined the firm in 1982 as a trainee accountant. After eight years I became a Partner and a member of the Executive Board; in January 2016 I was appointed as Managing Partner, becoming the second female managing partner in the firm’s history. Outside of work I serve as director of West London Business and a school governor, as well as being a mum.

My story isn’t unique though, many of our people started out as trainees or apprentices and have forged successful careers here. Similarly, if you join us as a member of one of our support service teams or an experienced professional, you become an essential part of our team and we are committed to helping you realise your potential.
