Job Description

Purpose of the Role
The Learning & Development (L&D) department was created in 2015 and is one of the three pillars of the People team, alongside Early Talent and HR. Collectively these three pillars work together to design and execute a Firmwide People strategy. The L&D Advisor supports the execution of this strategy with a focus on programme management and the design/delivery of non-technical L&D interventions for both client-facing and business support functions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsible for all stages of the learning cycle for qualified employees, up to and including assistant manager level (and equivalent), business support and secretaries. Daily responsibilities would primarily focus on non-technical L&D and would include programme development and management for the following:
-Annual curriculum for qualified staff
-Annual curriculum for business support and secretaries
Job Content
The role of advisor will include the following for their relevant client groups:

Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
-Review Personal Development Plans in order to identify L&D needs (technical and non-technical)
-Review evaluations from existing L&D interventions and assess how this information might impact existing and future L&D offerings
-Build Firm knowledge and create a network in order to understand individual and team dynamics which might impact on existing or future L&D offerings

Design and Delivery
-Combine TNA information and specialist knowledge to create relevant L&D interventions e.g. in-person workshops, written guidelines, knowledge shares, webinars, mentoring schemes etc.
-Deliver and co-deliver in-person workshops

-Distribute, collect and monitor action plans completed at the end of in-person L&D interventions
-Collate feedback following each in-person L&D intervention and distribute to facilitators; suggesting and monitoring areas for improvement
-Review the existing evaluation procedure and advise on changes that will help to capture the most useful information for return on investment

-Oversee the storage of L&D materials and resources e.g. WorkSite and the Intranet
-Build relationships and communicate with external suppliers
-Work with the L&D team to ensure registers and invoices are processed
-Knowledge share with other members of the internal L&D community
-Provide ad hoc support to the wider People team on departmental projects

Skills and Experience
-3+ years L&D experience
-Strong communication skills, including presentation and/or facilitation skills
-Strong organisational skills
-Ability to build rapport with internal/external contacts, of all levels of hierarchy
-Takes ownership of their workload and development
-Experience of working in a Partnership Firm ideally Law or Accountancy
-CIPD accreditation
